OUR TEAM

Our agents bring a lot more to the table than just a license. Some have experience in home building, others real estate law or finance: all of which can be brought to bear as needed in any given transaction. What’s more, Zane, unlike nearly every other real estate brokerage firm is designed to work as a team. That way, we can and do draw on one another for expertise to provide guidance in ways that a single broker-client relationship cannot. It’s a bit unorthodox in our business, but it allows us to be extraordinarily thorough, prepared and attentive. Please feel free to review the qualifications and experience of each of our agents and contact any of them directly if you’d like to know more.

Steve founded Zane MacGregor in 1985 after several years with Stanford Research Institute as a real estate consultant. Prior to that, he leveraged his degrees in Civil Engineering and City Planning from Cal Berkeley and USC respectively for architectural and engineering firms.

Steve was born and grew up on the Peninsula and has lived in downtown Palo Alto for many years where he and his wife raised their four sons. He has served on several Palo Alto task forces, including Historic Homes, Architectural Review, and South of Forest Area. Steve is also a local real estate investor.

He has created several quantitative tools for tracking the market and writes commentaries on local real estate dynamics and trends. Steve has completed over $1.5 billion in residential and commercial transactions. However, he cannot play a lick of golf.

CalBRE# 01311853

Steve "I love that guy" Niethammer has an expert knowledge of real estate that is matched only by his sense of humor. He grew up in Palo Alto and left his mark at Walter Hayes Elementary, Jordan Middle School, and then Palo Alto High, before going on to attend Cal Poly SLO to study football and landscape design.

So plugged in, he is often referred to as the "Mayor of Palo Alto." Steve lives in Crescent Park with his wife and two children. His passion for his home town goes well beyond real estate; you can also find him volunteer coaching at Paly or raising funds for local causes.

Steve has completed over $500,000,000 in sales and he holds regular office hours at the Peninsula Creamery.

Chris knows the mid-Peninsula in ways that most of us don't. Prior to his career in real estate, he served the City of Palo Alto for 18 years, first in law enforcement and then in city management. This has provided him a unique fly-on-the-wall insight into the inner workings of municipal governments, including their agencies and committees, such as planning, redevelopment and the environment.

Chris is a native of the Bay Area and has lived on the Peninsula almost his entire life.

Commercial Agent
Residential Realtor

A third generation Palo Altan, Brian has the Peninsula in his blood. His grandfather and father were highly innovative and industrious residential and commercial developers, and Brian grew up as Stanford, Portola Valley, Atherton and Sunnyvale literally took shape before his eyes.

It was inevitable that Brian would join the family business. He has focused on investment property and leasing for the last 25 years. He and his wife have two daughters and are Palo Alto homeowners, naturally. He's also an avid fisherman.

CARLEE CARNDUFF

Operations Manager

Realtor

650.522.0016
carlee@zanemac.com
CalBre#01907422

Don't let Carlee's warm smile and helpful demeanor fool you, she also spent six years in the US Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant, runs marathons, and is working to earn her MBA, "after hours." (As if there were such a thing in real estate.)

Carlee earned her real estate license in 2012, the same year she joined the Zane team. And, like her beloved dogs Harry and Corey, we quickly learned who is boss.
